SPORT clubs and schools in Bromsgrove are being invited to apply for a share of cash for the next financial year.

Bromsgrove District Council is currently accepting applications for the fourth and final year of the Sportivate programme.

The initiative supports and help organisations that deliver sport and physical activity, or would like to in the future.

The nationwide Sport England campaign, delivered in partnership with Sport Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire, aims to capture the excitement of sport and provide young people, aged 11 to 25-years-old, with the opportunity to receive between six and eight weeks of sport coaching.

The programme is designed to encourage regular participation in sport.

Sportivate is part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games’ legacy programme.

Successful bidders, which can come from sports clubs, schools, colleges and other organisations, will be able to use funding on helping to cover the cost of coaches, incentives, equipment and facilities costs.

John Godwin, head of leisure for Bromsgrove District Council, said: “If your club or organisation would like to provide a new sporting service or if you simply need to recruit new members then this funding is ideal for you.

"Don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re here to help you make the best of sporting opportunities across the district.”

The deadline for completing application forms is Monday, January 13. The form is available online at bromsgrove.gov.uk/sportivate.

Alternatively a paper copy can be requested.
