A BROMSGROVE residential unit supporting people with mental health issues has been praised by inspectors.

Tudor Lodge, in Stourbridge Road, received an unannounced inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in early December.

The care home, run by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, looked at the personal care and treatment records of people using the service, observing how people were being cared for.

The views of staff members were collected, and inspectors also spoke to people using the service directly.

In the inspection report that has now been published, the CQC noted those using the service told inspectors they were happy living at the facility, and felt their individual needs were being met with the help of staff.

They also said they felt safe at the Catshill home.

It was observed staff had a "kind and caring approach towards the people they supported", and the CQC said people were listened to and received a consistent level of care that met their individual needs.

The CQC found that Tudor Lodge met standards expected in five key areas assessed; respecting and involving people who use services, care and welfare of people who use services, safeguarding people who use services from abuse, requirements relating to workers and assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.

Mark Dickens, from the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, said: “We are very pleased with the outcome of this inspection and feel that it highlights the hard work that is put in to ensure those using services at Tudor Lodge receive the very best care."
