A BROMSGROVE couple were among several families who got an extra-special Christmas present as they welcomed a new addition to the family.

Marie and Gary Williams’ baby daughter was on of the first to arrive on the special day, at 8.45am, at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, weighing six pounds and 9.5 ounces.

Mrs Williams said it had been a surprise – but a welcome one – to say hello to their new daughter, who they have called Krissie, as she had not been due until January 15.

She added they had decided on the name far in advance, but were expecting to field endless questions on whether they had decided on the name in honour of her birthday.

“If she was a boy we were going to call her Christopher after my dad,” she said.

Mr Williams described it as “the best Christmas present ever” and said he had joked they should give her the middle name ‘massday’.

Mrs Williams added their older daughter, six-year-old Chelsie, was excited to meet her baby sister.

“She’s been crying all day because she had to stay at home,” she said.

She added both herself and baby Krissie were doing well.
