BROMSGROVE, Redditch and Droitwich residents are being given a last chance to apply for a school place for their child.

Wednesday, January 15, is the last day to apply for parents to apply for their child's reception school place.

Worcestershire County Council is reminding families they can apply online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Residents in the county need to apply for school places through the county council.

Each year parents get caught out by not applying for their children's place, before the closing date, and end up missing out on their preferred school.

To make an application parents and carers need to visit the council's school admissions page at worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions The online application process is designed to be quick and easy to use, ensuring applications are made on time and without the need to rely on the post or forms being filled in correctly.

For anyone who isn't able to get online at home, Worcestershire County Council's libraries are available, with computers and staff ready to give a helping hand.

Mark Ballett, senior mainstream admissions officer, said: "The online process means parents can get together at their leisure to make their preference of schools.

"Not only that, but if they change their mind, amendments can be made to the application right up until the closing date and its totally confidential and secure."

Applicants receive an email acknowledgement that their application has been received and on offer day, the offer is sent to them electronically.
