BROMSGROVE residents of all sporting abilities are being invited to take part in a new athletics session at a town leisure centre.

The new evening session, being held at the Ryland Centre in New Road, is designed to be fun and focused on what participants are able to do rather than offering a fixed menu of sports.

The sessions are held every Tuesday, from 8pm until 9.30pm, and are open to anyone aged 14-years-old and over making use of the centre's indoor and outdoor facilities.

The sessions have been organised by Bromsgrove District Council with support from Sport England’s Inclusive Sport fund.

The cost is £2 per session.

The new sessions follow on from junior inclusive athletics, already held on Tuesdays. They also offer a challenge to new members, as well as older juniors the chance to progress.

Bromsgrove District Councillor Michael Webb, who is responsible for leisure, said: “It’s important to ensure people of all abilities in the district have high quality opportunities for sport and active fun, and so I am delighted to announce these latest inclusive athletics sessions.

“The sessions have been designed with individual needs in mind, so if you or a member of your family wants to get active and have some fun they could be for you.”
