SIGHT experts at Worcestershire Royal Hospital have set up a new support group helping people with diabetes see more clearly.

The Worcestershire Diabetic Eye Disease Support Group aims to offer support and information for those suffering from the condition.

Diabetic people have high levels of glucose in their blood as their bodies cannot process it properly, which can lead to damage in the eyes.

Diabetic retinopathy – in which the retina is damaged – is the most common cause of blindness in the UK.

The first meeting of the group will be held from 10am until midday on Thursday, January 30 in the Aconbury East Board Room at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

All are welcome.
