STAFF and pupils at a Bromsgrove pre-school have been celebrating after receiving outstanding in a recent inspection.
Ofsted inspectors visited Fairfield Pre-school, based at Fairfield Village Hall in Stourbridge Road, last November.
In the inspector's report, which has now been published, the pre-school was rated as a one, which is outstanding in Ofsted's criteria.
This was an improvement on the pre-school's previous inspection, carried out in April 2012, when it was judged to be a grade two - good.
In the latest report, written by inspector Rachel Wyatt, various areas were judged as outstanding including how well the early years provision meets the needs of the range of children who attend, the contribution of the early years provision to the well-being of children, and the effectiveness of the leadership and management of the early years provision.
The pre-school’s safeguarding arrangements were highlighted, described as exemplary, while the quality of teaching was praised, inspectors saying they found it to be excellent.
Inspectors also said Fairfield Pre-school's youngsters thoroughly enjoyed learning, and were making excellent progress.
It was suggested the pre-school could improve further by enhancing the already excellent provision for children's outdoor learning, by providing youngsters with even more physical challenges and opportunities.
Fairfield Pre-school’s owner and manager, Sharon Shorthouse, said she was “extremely proud" of the pre-school and staff.
"The dedication and hardwork from everyone shows when the children enjoy coming to school, they are eager to learn and make progress," she said.
"We work closely with parents and carers to ensure their child’s development and abilities are being progressed.
"We share their views and interests to enhance their learning."
