BROMSGROVE District Council is introducing a new and easier way to pay council tax bills.

The changes mean that on February 25 and 26 the authority won't be able to take any card payments whether online, through a telephone or automated telephone payment, or at the council's offices.

Customers can still pay by cash or cheque at the Customer Service Centre, in School Drive, during office opening hours, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, or by sending a cheque in the post.

The new system will be available from Thursday, February 27, with card payments being made available again from that date.

Councillor Mike Webb, whose portfolio covers customer service, said: “This is a slight inconvenience to our customers for a short time but will mean long term benefits for all our customers.”

Customers with any queries can call the Customer Service Centre on 01527 881288 or visit the Dolphin Centre-based centre.
