AN event is being held in Bromsgrove to support families who have children with a disability or learning difficulty, to make an informed choice about life after school.

Worcestershire County Council's Young Adults Team was set up 18 months ago to help youngsters make the transition into adulthood and ensure parent and carers can reach informed decisions about their options for the future.

The team is supporting various drop in events, including one being held in Bromsgrove this Wednesday, March 5.

The event is taking place at Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College, in Meadow Roads, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Refreshments will be available.

Councillor Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for children and families, said: "When young people are due to leave school and decide on their future options, this can be a difficult time for them and their families or carers, especially when they have disabilities or learning disabilities.

"That is why we are supporting these events which will provide a wealth of useful information for parents and carers so they can decide on the best future possible for young people as they prepare to leave school.

"These events also provide an opportunity for people providing such services to showcase what they offer and also for carers and parents to drop in and find out more."
