THIEVES broke into a Lickey End house and carried out a car key burglary as the owner was asleep on Sunday evening, (February 23).

The burglary took place at Green Hill Close, Lickey End, between 10pm and 7am the following morning.

When the owner awoke they discovered the green, three-door Focus RS, registration RS04APO, had been taken after the keys were removed from the hallway.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out and leaflets delivered, informing residents about the burglary and appealing for information.

Detective Constable Tony Flannagan said: “This happened in a quiet cul-de-sac so we’re obviously interested in sightings of any cars not normally seen there either during that evening or beforehand.

"We also want to know if anyone has seen this car since it was stolen.

"The thieves managed to get in despite the fact the door was secure. It’s important that people get into the habit of checking their security before they retire for the night, ensuring doors are locked from the inside even when they cannot be opened from outside, and that any alarms are activated."

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Flannagan on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 70-S-240214.
