POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road rage incident on the M42 near Bromsgrove in which a woman was threatened and spat at.

It happened at about 5pm on Thursday, February 27.

The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was driving her blue Mitsubishi Shogun along the M42 southbound when another vehicle undertook her and the occupants started making abusive gestures at her and throwing items at her car.

Both vehicles left the motorway at junction 1 and while waiting on the slip road at the traffic lights a male passenger got out of the other vehicle, took a 3ft long spirit level and 3ft long piece of wood from the boot and threatened her.  He also spat in her face.

The woman was not injured but was very shaken by the incident.

The man was white, aged about 35, of medium build, with short fair hair, and wearing what looked like green work trousers with lots of pockets and a jumper. The vehicle was red and possibly a Peugeot 406.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Laura Wright on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 462-s-270214 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
