TWO generous youngsters from Bromsgrove have gone under the clippers and had their heads shaved for charity.

Charlie Kelly, 11, and Jude Coyle, 12, both go to Alvechurch School and decided that they wanted to raise money for charity. After batting around a few ideas they decided to take a trip to Costello hairdressers in the town last Saturday (March 8) where they said goodbye to their lovely locks.

Jude, who lost his grandmother to cancer 18 months ago, decided to raise the money for Cancer Research UK while Charlie, who has always been an animal lover, chose to give to Hillfields Animal Sanctuary in Blackwell after a leaflet came through his front door appealing for donations.

Jude's mother Pauline said the boys have really got stuck into the fundraising and been keen to raise as much money as possible.

"They both did really well. They are virtually bald and were a bit self conscious at first but have raised over £400 so far with money still coming in," she said.

She also wanted to thank the staff at Costello for cutting the hair free of charge.

Donations for Cancer Research UK can be made at Jude's fundraising page: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/JudeCoyleCharlieKelly and those who want to give to Hillfields Animal Sanctuary can do so online at hillfields-animal-sanctuary.com.
