TOWNSFOLK are being invited to a charity event organised by the civic head of Bromsgrove District Council.

The authority's civic head, Councillor Helen Jones, and husband Andrew, have organised the civic charity dinner dance being held at Bromsgrove's Holiday Inn in Kidderminster Road on Friday, April 11.

Entertainment will be from a live band, the Boperator Boogie Band. There will also be a charity auction and a casino.

All money raised on the evening will be donated to the civic head's chosen charities during her year in office, the Pilgrim Bandits and Afasic.

The Afasic charity supports children and young people with speech and language impairments, while the Pilgrim Bandits helps and inspires wounded soldiers.

Those attending the event are asked to attend a drink's reception being held from 6.30pm.

A dinner, included in the price, will then be served at 7.15pm. Bar service will be available.

The dress code is a black tie and lounge suit.

Tickets for the event cost £45. Tickets are being sold on a first come first served and demand is expected to be high, so it is advised to book early.

Tickets are available from Sharon Chaplin by calling 01527 881484, or email s.chapin@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk.

Anyone who is unable to make the evening, but still wants to make a donation, is also asked to contact Sharon.
