TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery at a Barnt Green convenience store.

The incident happened at 9pm on Monday, March 10, when three men with their faces covered entered Tesco Express in Hewell Road.

Two of the men approached an assistant who was cashing up at self service tills. They demanded money then threatened to shoot her, although no weapons were seen.

A quantity of cash was stolen from the assistants hand, and the two men ran out of the store.

The third man took a member of staff upstairs, to where another member of staff was working, and asked them to open the safe, but they were unable to do so.

One man was arrested on Saturday, (March 22), while another was arrested on Monday, (March 24).

The pair, both from the Birmingham area, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
