A VITAL centre supporting homeless young people in Bromsgrove has been given a significant cash boost.

The Basement Project, which provides support for the homeless and which is based at Hanover House in Hanover Street, has been presented with a cheque of £3,272.

The money was donated by the Basepoint Project, based at Bromsgrove Technology Park.

It was raised from a series of charity events including bag packing at local supermarkets, church events, quiz nights, and the National Garden scheme open events by volunteers from local groups.

The centre is owned by the ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need.

Each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected charity, and the ACT Foundation also match funds raised.

Elaine Beaumont, Basepoint centre manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to present this cheque to the Basement Project.

"It is a fantastic opportunity to support a local charity and work alongside the local community to help raise funds for such a worthy cause.”
