TWINKLE toed youngsters from a Tardebigge dance studio have waltzed away with a spectacular haul of medals during a recent competition.

Members of Revolutions Twirlers, a majorette, baton twirling and pom pom dance troupe based at the recently opened Revolutions Dance Studio in Tardebigge, competed at the National Championships in Skegness last month against troupes from all over England and Scotland.

A group of 16 dancers aged between seven and 22 came away with a host of awards, including ten first places, five second places and two third places. There were also three first place medals in the team awards section.

Most impressive of all was 10-year-old Leah Farmer, who won the personality award due to the fact she underwent an operation two weeks before the competition yet still went out and competed, managing first place in her category.

Anni Moorhead, principal at Revolutions Studio, said: "It was a fantastic effort. I'm exceptionally proud of all the hard work everyone has put into it and their dedication has shown on the dance floor."

She added that the school is welcoming new dancers, performers and majorettes who want to get involved to sign up.

"We opened only six months ago and already we have performed at the Palace Theatre, won national titles and been invited to perform at several events during the year.

"We offer classes for tots, children and adults in baton twirling, pom pom dance, freestyle dance, street dance, ballet and tap dance, musical theatre, gymnastics and cheerleading."
