BROMSGROVE artists are being invited to take part in an open exhibition this summer.

Artists and photographers who work in a contemporary style are invited to take part and submit work for the exhibition that is taking place at the Artrix from Monday, July 14, until Sunday, August 17.

There is no theme and although it is an open exhibition, the selectors are looking for work in a modern and challenging style.

Three dimensional work and crafts will be considered, but this will be according to the limitations of display space at the School Drive-based theatre.

A spokesman for the Artrix said: "This is the first time that Artrix has held an open exhibition and we hope that it will offer an opportunity to the many artists who produce more unusual work that may not find an audience in more traditional galleries in the district."

Anyone interested in submitting work is asked to email a photo of the work along with an entry form, available from the Artrix, to outreach@artrix.co.uk.

Alternatively people can bring the original work into the Artrix and ask to show their pieces to the exhibitions co-ordinator.

All submissions need to be submitted before May 10, and no submission will be considered without a signed entry form.

Final decisions are to be made by May 21 while work will need to be delivered to the Artrix during the week beginning July 7.

Hanging will take place on July 14, and work will need to be picked up by artists after noon on August 18.
