A BROMSGROVE company is showing support for a charity walk being held in memory of an iconic Worcestershire sportsmen.

BHSF Occupational Health Limited, based in Stoke Prior, has signed up to be the official healthcare partner of Walk for Basil, a 74 mile sponsored walk from Worcester to Cardiff.

The walk is being held to honour Basil D'Oliveira, the South African cricketer who played for Worcestershire County Cricket Club and England.

It is raising money for the Basil D'Oliveira Foundation that is setting up a cricket programme in his memory, supporting future rising cricketers from deprived backgrounds.

The walk begins on Thursday, May 1, and aims to arrive at the SWALEC stadium in Cardiff on Sunday, May 4, during the lunch interval of the Glomargan against Worcester, County Championship match.

Paul Robinson, managing director of BHSF Occupational Health Limited, said: "We are delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile and challenging event and wish his team every success."
