STAFF from Bromsgrove's E-Lites call centre are preparing to scale Britain's highest mountains in the name of a cancer research charity.

Six members of the team are taking part in the national Three Peaks Challenge in June, in which they will scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all in a 24-hour period.

Contact centre manager Guy Everett said: "As a group of ex-smokers all with varying degrees of fitness and mental willing this will test the group in different ways, but they are all really keen to get it done.

"They are all quite young so should be fairly fit but they do like their junk food and to go down the pub so they need to get a bit of a wiggle on when it comes to the training - I think it's going to be a mad dash as it gets closer to the date."

The challenge has come about as part of a 'Believe you Can' scheme the company is currently running in which staff are being helped to achieve goals that are important to them.

All money raised will go to brain cancer research charity Help Harry Help Others and people can donate by visiting justgiving.com/e-litesthethreepeakschallenge.
