PUPILS at St John's Middle School out-rhymed the opposition at a poetry slam event of quite stunning compositions.
The lyrical youngsters beat competition from 17 other Worcestershire middle schools at the event held earlier this month at Redditch's Palace Theatre.
Having been coached by Birmingham based performance poets Spoz and Dreadlock Alien as part of an annual poetry slam event held at the school, they based their winning performance on the topic of heroes and inspiration.
Head of Key Stage Three English Mrs Davenport said she was immensely proud of the students' well-deserved win.
