TOWNSFOLK are being invited to a charity gig being held in Bromsgrove.
The event is being held from 5pm at The Cross Inn, in Alcester Road, Finstall, this Sunday, May 11.
Dave from tribute group The Jam DRC will be performing at the gig and playing songs by The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, Rod Stewart, Oasis, as well as The Jam.
The event has been organised by Bromsgrove resident Yasmin Millward, who is a future fund challenger for the Womankind Worldwide charity.
The charity promotes women's rights, campaigning for an end to violence and discrimination against women and an increase in women's civil and political participation.
Yasmin is attempting to raise £1,000 for the charity in a year, and the gig is the biggest event she has organised to date.
Yasmin said she decided to start fundraising after experiencing sexism herself.
"I researched into worldwide sexism and discovered that women all over the world suffer greatly as consequence of gender inequality," she said.
"I decided to do a whole of year of fundraising for Womankind.
"I have already made £360 through selling cards and gifts.
"I plan to hold events, as well as doing a few crazy challenges that are yet to be decided."
The gig is free, but money raised through a raffle will be donated to Yasmin's fundraising challenge.
