MEMBERS of the Bromsgrove Operatic Society are calling on local residents for help with a vital prop for their upcoming production of their latest musical.

The society is putting on Gershwin's Crazy For You which starts a six-performance run at The Artrix on June, 17.

The production, a lively musical set in the 1930’s, requires a double bass for one particular scene but the society is having trouble finding one.

Production director Chris Love explains: “At one point in the show, the entire cast are involved in a ragtime musical number which is led by a double bass. Unfortunately, we don’t have one. We are sure one of the talented Bromsgrove residents will have one we can use for the show and can promise we will take very good care of it.”

The double bass doesn’t need to be in playable condition, and will be handled by a member of a local folk band with experience of musical instruments.

If you can help contact James Edwards on 07813891710 or Ian Cox on 07810865865.

Tickets for the show are still available from the Artrix Box Office on 01527 577330.
