BUDDING entrepreneurs from a Bromsgrove school have scooped an award.
Business-savy pupils at Bromsgrove School, Worcester Road, went up against counterparts from schools across the town, Redditch and Wyre Forest,.
Each team were challenged to set up their own business a year ago, with guidance from volunteer advisors, to make and sell products.
Sixth form students from Bromsgrove School set up a business called Pretty Ugly, making hand-made, quality products all made from recycled materials.
An awards ceremony was held at North Bromsgrove High School, in School Drive, on May 1, and the Pretty Ugly team scooped the North Worcestershire Company of the Year award.
The new owner of the BestOf Bromsgrove franchise, Lyndon Stokes, sponsored the presentations category and awarded a £50 prize to the winning team.
He said: "The Young Enterprise Programme helps the next generation enter the workplace with confidence, resilience and strong business skills.
"I’m proud to have been involved with the awards - a celebration of the achievements of some of the best young business talent in the area.”
