AS the university summer break begins, and students from Redditch, Bromsgrove and Droitwich move back home from university and college for the summer holidays, TV Licensing is reminding them that they could be eligible for a useful refund of almost £37 on the final quarter of their annual TV Licence.
For a lot of students, extra cash is always welcome, and many will not be needing their TV Licence over the holiday period. To be eligible for the refund, students need to have a TV licence, be leaving their halls or rented accommodation and moving back to a licensed address.
If there are three full calendar months before the licence expires, they are entitled to a refund for the unused quarter.
A colour TV Licence bought in October 2013 cost £145.50 so the refund is £36.37.
People need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes at the same time as they are shown on TV, whether they are watching on TV sets, or other devices including tablets and laptops.
Students who wish to arrange a refund or who need further information need to complete an online form at tvlicensing.co.uk/studentinfo or call TV Licensing on 0300 790 6090.
