WITNESSES who saw a stolen car collide with a police car in Wychbold are being asked to come forward.

Police spotted the stolen vehicle - a silver, grey VW Golf - on the M5 at about 4.10pm on Thursday, May 22.

It was driven by a man who had a female passenger, with blond hair, with him.

At 5.30pm, the vehicle left the motorway at Junction 5, in Wychbold, travelling south, and collided with a police car on the slip road near the A38 roundabout.

It was also in collision with a blue Ford Focus as it left the motorway at that junction. It was then seen in the Chequers Lane and Stoke Road area of Wychbold.

The car, severely damaged, was eventually found in Sharpway Gate, Stoke Prior, at 6.40pm.

Sergeant Stuart Allen said: “This stolen vehicle was driven first north up the M5 and then onto the M42 and then back south again where it exited the M5, and was in two collisions on the slip road at junction 5.

“It was quite badly damaged and we would like to hear from anyone who saw the car, either on the motorways or in the Wychbold and Stoke Prior areas, and saw the collisions.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Allen on non emergency number 101, quoting incident number 454s 220514.
