STUDENTS from Redditch and Bromsgrove will be getting an insight into engineering an electric supercar and finding out how to decontaminate a nuclear submarine.

As part of Sci-Tech 2014, which takes place at Redditch's NEW College on June 19, pupils will get to talk to scientists, experience practical hands-on sessions, understand how science is used in industry and learn about careers in science and technology.

Peter Hill, of the Sci-Tech organising committee, said: “This year we have more presenters and a greater variety of activities than ever before.

"The day should equip the students with all the information on whether a career in science is right for them.”

Guest presenters include Martyn Hale, a director of Bromsgrove-based HME Technology, a market leader in design and technology, and Dr Mark Lewney, of the Patent Office and one of the UK’s most acclaimed science presenters.
