CASH was stolen from a Bromsgrove betting shop after a cashier was intimidated.

The incident happened at Ladbrokes, in Worcester Road, at about 6.50pm on Friday, May 23.

Although the female cashier was not directly threatened, she felt intimidated after a man entered and demanded money.

He stole money from off a cash tray she was holding, then opened the till and took a further amount.

He put the undisclosed amount of money in an orange plastic bag before running off.

The man is described as being white, under the age of 35 and possibly under 6ft. He was wearing a light cream or beige hoody with the hood up, and dark tracksuit bottoms with a flesh coloured stocking over his face.

He ran past the Golden Cross in High Street and Prezzo, turning into an alleyway, then heading towards the car park leading to New Road.

A few moments earlier another man had been in the shop and picked up a football leaflet before leaving.

He is described as being white, in his mid to late 20s, of average build, just under 6ft. He was wearing a dark baseball cap which was possibly dark blue or black, a blue sweatshirt and dark loose fitting trousers. He had a tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Bromsgrove police are investigating the incident and have released CCTV images of two possible witnesses, as well as the offender.

Detective Constable Claire Johnson, of West Mercia Police, said anyone who recognises the images is asked to contact her on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 547-s-230514.
