A SNEAL-in thief stole footwear from an insecure porch in Bromsgrove.

The burglary took place in Stonehouse Road between 10.30pm on Tuesday, (June 3), and 7am on Wednesday, (June 4).

Afterwards the householder discovered the front porch had been entered and shoes and other footwear had been taken.

Detective Constable Tony Flannagan of North Worcestershire CID said: “It’s unusual for items like this to be stolen and therefore all the more likely that if the thief was seen carrying footwear from the scene someone would remember that.

"If anyone knows anything about this please come forward and tell us.

“With the summer now upon us it’s also a timely reminder to people about the importance of home security and keeping windows and doors locked, and that of course also includes porch doors.

“It only takes a thief a few seconds to reach in through an open window or come through an open door to grab valuables and other property.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Flannagan on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference number 60-S-040614.
