A HOSPICE is calling for Bromsgrove and Redditch residents to become volunteers.

Volunteers’ Week, which celebrates the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK, has been taking place this week.

To coincide with the week, the Primrose Hospice has launched a recruitment drive encouraging people to become volunteers.

The drive at the St Godwald's centre also follows the appointment of Jo Merret as the new volunteers manager.

Jo said: "I am really excited about my new role as the hospice has a base of over 250 dedicated volunteers already supporting it in various different roles.

"Primrose Hospice depends on volunteers in almost all of its work to fulfil its goal of providing free care to patients with life-limiting conditions and support to their families across Bromsgrove and Redditch.

"Without them we would simply be unable to provide the levels of support needed across all areas of the hospice."

She added that all types of volunteers are welcome, whether on a regular or occasional basis.

Anyone interested can call Jo on 01527 875444, asking for a volunteer information pack.
