BROMSGROVE residents are being invited to attend the raising of the civic Armed Forces Flag at a council event this June.

To mark the sixth Armed Forces Day, Bromsgrove District Council has organised a flag raising ceremony at Crown Green, near the Amphlett Hall in Crown Close.

Civic dignitaries and community representatives, including the authority's civic head John Ruck, will be attending, with the flag being raised at 10.30 pm on Monday, June 23.

Cllr Ruck said: "By Flying the Flag in our community, we are showing our support for the men and women of our Armed Forces, past and present, who continue to rise to the very difficult challenge of maintaining the defence of the realm."

All those that attend are invited for refreshment afterwards at the nearby Amphlett Hall.
