STAFF and residents at a Bromsgrove care home are preparing for a trip to Wonderland.

This Friday, June 20, is national care home open day.

To celebrate the occasion Breme Care Home, in Providence Road, is holding a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Everyone at the home will be dressing as the weird and wonderful characters from the famous Lewis Carroll classic, Alice in Wonderland.

These include home manager Denise Clark as the Mad Hatter  and deputy manager Becky Rudge as the White Rabbit.

Townsfolk are being invited along to the event, which is being held between 10am and 4pm.

There will be a feast of delicious cakes and jam tarts, and refreshments all day.

Denise said: “Our residents absolutely love to see us all dressed to the nines, so we thought what better way to celebrate than with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

“We would love to see some new and familiar faces from the local community come along to share a special day with us.”

The following day, Saturday, June 21, the home is also welcoming people from the local community along to its annual summer fete.

The event includes various stalls, selling everything from cakes and flowers to bric-a-brac.

There will also be live music from Barry and the Three Fivers, plus refreshments.

The summer fete takes place between 2pm and 4.30pm.
