A FUNDRAISER from Cofton Hackett has completed a walk to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of her father-in-law.

‘Walking for the Boys’ was a 40 mile walk from Droitwich to Broadway organised by Clare Southall, in memory of her father-in-law David Dixon who died last year.

She said: “The support has been astounding and given me faith back on human kindness. The messages of support were very motivating. Tesco in Barnt Green and Asda in Pershore very kindly donated food for the walkers over the weekend and I would like to give them a mention and a big thank you. As well as all who were involved and have already donated.”

Mrs Southall was originally planning to complete the 40 mile walk alone, but when she mentioned it to friends and family, a surprising number of people said they wanted to keep her company, and eventually more than 20 walkers took part in some of the walk, with five dedicated walkers completing the full 40 miles.

Money is still coming in from sponsors for the walk, and Mrs Southall is hoping the fundraising will eventually top £1,000.
