The man, who is in his 40s and from Romsley, near Halesowen, was detained by officers under the Misuse of Drugs Act after getting off a bus in Broad Street in Sidemoor, Bromsgrove, on Thursday morning, June 19.

A large quantity of suspected Class A drugs, believed to be heroin, was recovered.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply, and was released on police bail until 28th August pending further inquiries.

Inspector Sarah Corteen of West Mercia Police said: “Targeting drug dealers and disrupting the supply of drugs to our communities is a priority for the force.

“We would like to reassure Sidemoor residents that we will not tolerate this behaviour and are actively seeking the dealers committing these offences on their estates.

“We would like to appeal to anyone with information on drug dealing to contact either the police on the non-emergency number 101 or by ringing the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

“Even if it just a concern or a suspicion, we ask them to come forward, as each snippet can help us build a picture of what is going on. We take all reports seriously, investigate them thoroughly and if appropriate act on the information provided.”
