ORGANISERS of an annual fete held in Aston Fields are promising this year's event will be the biggest yet.

Bromsgrove Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club, based in St Godwald's Road, is holding Aston Fields Grand Summer Fete this Sunday, July 13.

The event is in its sixth year and features more than 50 stalls and games for all the family.

Among the attractions are electric go-karts for children, Zorb balls, RUSH hockey, a bouncy castle and slide, classic cars and live music from Andy Thomas.

There will also be a hog roast, barbecue, an all day bar, cakes, ice creams and candy floss.

Gates open at 11am and entry is free.

Fete organiser Paul Munn said: "We have worked hard to continually improve the event and add new attractions for all.

"Providing entertainment to raise our profile in the community and assist with our fundraising efforts is a great challenge but very worthwhile.

"The major focus this year is on the hockey section, who are in desperate need of an artificial pitch and are currently working hard to raise funds to build one here at the club.”

A car boot will be held on the day. It costs £5 a car and anyone interested can simply turn up on the day.

The fete closes at 4pm but the party will continue into the evening as the bar will stay open while the World Cup Final is being broadcast in the clubhouse, with commentary outside in the beer garden.
