APRIL saw the launch of a brand new scheme from the Royal Voluntary Service in Bromsgrove.
The scheme is designed to offer older members of the community a ‘neighbourly’ helping hand, and to help them to maintain their independence through befriending, group activities and social events.
Worcestershire service manager Helen Ward said: "We are really excited to be expanding our work supporting older people in the community.
"We want to help create a society where everyone feels valued and involved – a place where everyone can enjoy later life to the maximum. This grant will really help us to make a difference."
