RESIDENTS living near to Bromsgrove Railway Station have been warned work will be continuing on nights throughout this month and into August.

The work at the site in Aston Fields involves the installation of several new retaining structures and realignment of the existing track routes.

It is described as essential improvement work by Network Rail, in preparation for construction of the new £17.4 million station railway station and car park.

Network Rail say the majority of the work is being carried out during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, between 7am and 7pm.

Due to safety, some of the work is being carried out while trains are not running, which also ensures the least disruption to train services.

Work will be taking place from 9pm this Saturday, July 19, to 8am this Monday, July 21. It will continue at the same times the following weekends: July 26 to July 28, August 2 to August 4, and August 9 to August 11.

Network Rail adds those working on the site have been briefed about working responsibly in the local community. The equipment being used means disturbance is unavoidable, though efforts are made to minimise unnecessary noise.

Anyone with additional questions or concerns is asked to visit networkrail.co.uk, or call 08457 11 41 41.
