BROMSGROVE motorists are being warned of temporary road closures when a major international street theatre company is performing near the town centre on Saturday, July 19.

Between 5 and 8pm a stretch of Worcester Road up to Hanover Street, St John’s Street between High Street and Market Street will be closed to drivers and a diverted route via Windsor Street will be available. The road closures will be manned.

Fench act Transe-Express will put on its Mobile Hommes, A Sky Event in High Street up to Hanover car park.

Trapeze artists and musicians will perform at the event which includes a procession starting from High street’s junction with New Road at 5.45pm.

Hanover Street car park will be closed all day but alternative car parks are available these include Church Fields multi-storey, the Recreation Road car parks and Parkside. For details visit www.bromsgrove.gov.uk.

Bromsgrove District councillor Michael Webb, who is responsible for leisure, said: “The event is set to be truly amazing with trapeze artists and musicians performing high above the town centre’s skyline creating a fantastic carnivalesque atmosphere with fun for all the family.

“The High Street will come alive for the evening with considerable numbers of people expected to turn up, businesses opening later and a high-flying event to set it all off.”

Those attending the event are asked to bring instruments including home-made ones, for added atmosphere.
