BROMSGROVE residents can expect to receive letters telling them about the biggest change to the electoral system in 100 years.
This summer communications are being sent out on the new system of Individual Electoral Registration (IER).
Electoral services will be writing to everyone currently on the Register of Electors, between July 31 and August 10, providing information about the new system and explaining what, if anything, individuals need to do next.
Most people will be automatically transferred to the new system, however a small number of people may have to provide additional information. In those cases, the letters being sent out explain what people need to do.
Lizzie Tovey, electoral services manager, said: "The changes are really exciting and mean that for the first time individuals can now register to vote online – it’s quick, simple and easy."
