FIVE homeless and unemployed young people are taking to the skies to raise money for charity.

The High Five group from Bromsgrove and Kidderminster are to skydive from 15,000 feet to raise money for St Basils, a charity which supports homeless young people throughout Worcestershire.

The participants aged 19 and 22, who have all been homeless at a stage in their lives, are taking part in a national project managed by Worcestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services called vInspired Talent.

High Five group member Vanessa Teall, 21, said: “We chose skydiving because we wanted to do something exhilarating and out of the ordinary that would draw attention to the position of homeless people.

“We have been lucky to be involved with vInspired and we want to use this opportunity to show even if you are unemployed you still have thoughts for others.”

The skydive is taking place on Thursday, August 14 to donate visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/High-Five
