A RESIDENT at a Bromsgrove care home celebrated her 101st birthday on Sunday, July 27.
Winifred Lambert, who lives at Tutnall Hall Care Home, grew up in Goostrey in Cheshire.
She attended Goostrey School which is where she met her childhood sweetheart Ben who she married.
They were happily wedded for 40 years and during which time they had a son called Richard.
When asked what her secret was to living a long and happy life she said βItβs just luck.β
Just after the war she looked after evacuees and later she worked in the office of a large wallpaper factory.
When Mrs Lambert was younger she enjoyed dancing.
She marked the occasion with visits from her family and a performance from John Dale, a singer and guitarist.
