SIXTEEN young people have organised a family fun day in Stoke Prior to support local hospices.
The teenagers, who are taking part in the Government-backed National Citizen Service programme, are holding the event this Sunday, August 17, from 12.30pm at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club in Weston Hall Road.
The event includes a dog show, live music and refreshments.
Team member Charlotte said: "This has been a great opportunity for us to do something different this summer and we are all really enjoying it.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support from local businesses and we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped us.”
The fun day, which forms part of the young peoples' social action activities, will raise vital funds for the work of the Primrose Hospice in St Godwald's Road, and Wyre Forest’s Kemp Hospice.
To further boost funds for the hospices, the team has also organised a charity bag pack at a Kidderminster ASDA store.
Alice McMahon, a fundraiser at Kemp Hospice, said: “This is a great Government scheme that is getting young people personally involved in helping their local community.
“Thank you so much to the team for all the hard work.”
