CHOIRS from across the Droitwich and Bromsgrove areas are being invited to take part in a vocal event at Webbs Garden Centre to raise money for the county’s local hospices.

The choir-a-thon, which is taking place at the Wychbold garden centre on Thursday, December 4, will see choirs being asked to perform for 30 minutes each in the garden centre restaurant during the Webb’s Festive Food Fayre.

In exchange for the choirs performing for customers, Webbs has pledged £1,000 to be split between St Richard’s Hospice in north Worcester, Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove, Acorns Hospice in south Birmingham, Kemp Hospice in Kidderminster, and Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge.

It’s also hoped that customers will make further donations to boost the fundraising efforts.

Webbs chairman, Ed Webb said: “We have many outstanding choirs locally across the whole age range. We would really love them to step up and share their wonderful voices with our customers to bring an extra festive feel to our food fayre. We support our chosen hospice charities throughout the year but look forward to giving them this extra donation at Christmas when they work so hard to make it a special time for patients and their families.”

A number of local school and community choirs have already signed up to take part in the event, but any choirs who are interested in joining the choir-a-thon, which will be running from 3-8pm on December 4, should contact Paul Steiner at Webbs on 01527 860000 or write to paulsteiner@webbs.co.uk.
