A PLAY based on a best-selling children’s book is one the highlights at Bromsgrove's Artrix during half-term week.

Blunderbus Theatre is presenting a stage version of Duck In the Truck based on the popular book by children’s author Jez Alborough.

In no time at all, this funny, silly show will have audiences singing along and laughing out loud.

Ducklings aged 3-7 will love this hilarious tale but even grown-up ducks will have lots of fun too.

Artrix Cinema is also screening two family films to stave off boredom during the holidays.

In Planes: Fire and Rescue Dusty joins forces with fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger to battle a massive wildfire.

Meanwhile beneath the charming cobblestone streets of Cheesebridge dwell The Boxtrolls, foul monsters who crawl out of the sewers at night and steal what the townspeople hold most dear: their children and their cheeses.

At least, that's the legend residents have always believed.

In truth, the Boxtrolls are an underground cavern-dwelling community of quirky and lovable oddballs who wear recycled cardboard boxes the way turtles wear their shells.

Blunderbus Theatre present Duck In the Truck on Tuesday, October 28 at 2pm.

Tickets cost £10.00 (£8 discount and £32 family ticket).

Planes Fire and Rescue (PG) is showing on Monday and Wednesday, October 27 and 29 at 2.30pm.

The Boxtrolls (PG) is showing on Thursday and Friday, October 30 and 31 at 11am and there is an accessible screening on Saturday, November 1 at 2.30 pm.

Tickets for this film cost £6 (£5 discount and £3 for accompanied children) and are available from the box office on 01527 577330.
