STAFF at a Bromsgrove hair and beauty salon are taking part in a month of events in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Since the start of this month SAKS hair and beauty raised £982 for the charity through a range of fundraising including a sponsored leg wax.
On Wednesday, October 15, the tickled pink salon held a super heroes’ day where 13 members of staff transformed themselves into Wonder Woman,Batgirl and even Robin.
Salon owner Ms Jane Jones said: “We would like to thank fancy dress shop Balloon Box in Bromsgrove who lend us the outfits free of charge.
“We are open to non-members you can telephone and we can tell you what events we have on everyone can join the more the merrier.”
A stylist at the salon, Joshua Matheson, 19, had a sponsored half-leg wax on Tuesday, October 7.
Towards the end of the month, a Psychic Fair will take place on Monday, October 20 between 7 and 10pm with tickets priced at £25.
On Monday, October 27, there will be a wine tasting evening between 7 and 10pm costing £3 per person.
Local organisations have teamed up with Jane by setting up in the salon and donating 20 per cent of what they make.
Ongoing events include a Guess the Baby, Guess Whose Bra, Name the Teddy along with a silent auction and a raffle.
Ms Jane Jones decided to host the month of events in memory of her mother, Ann Chambers a dedicated fundraiser herself, who died of cancer 12 years ago.
The event kicked off on Wednesday, October 1, when SAKS was transformed and staff dressed from head-to-toe in pink to mark the occasion.
