BROMSGROVE'S MP has welcomed the news crime is falling in the town.
Latest figures reveal crime recorded by police in West Mercia has fallen by 17 per cent since 2010.
The figures from the independent Crime Survey of England and Wales show crime across the country had fallen by more than a fifth in the same period.
Sajid Javid, who is Bromsgrove's MP and secretary of state for culture, media and sport, said: "‘The Government is following an action plan to tackle crime and make Bromsgrove a safer place to live.
"Crime has fallen by 17 per cent thanks to our plan and the hard work of police officers.
"This means families are safer and more secure – and Bromsgrove can enjoy a better, brighter future."
