A FAMOUS actor from Bromsgrove was the star attraction at the town's Christmas lights switch on event.
There was an impressive turn out for the event in Bromsgrove High Street on Saturday evening, (November 22).
Mark Williams, probably best known for starring in the Harry Potter films as Arthur Weasley, pushed the plunger with the help of town youngsters in front a large crowd that gathered for the event.
Mark, a former North Bromsgrove High School pupil, also appeared in 101 Dalmatians, Shakespeare in Love and television shows Red Drawf, the Fast Show and Doctor Who.
The switch on event was hosted by Malcolm Boyden from BBC Hereford and Worcester, who was joined by the council's civic head Councillor John Ruck.
After the switch on there was a parade to St John's Church for the popular Midwinter Fest, while in a separate ceremony the Primrose Hospice Lights of Love Christmas tree were also switched on.
