VULNERABLE people in Bromsgrove and Redditch may receive some unexpected Christmas cheer as kind-hearted carers from a Worcestershire support service are delivering hampers to some of the people they look after.

Staff at Kare Plus, a company which provides services for people with disabilities, dementia, mental health issues and people recovering from illness, decided to create the hampers after carer Becky Clarke suggested that the people the service assist may not receive presents from visiting family members or be able to afford festive extras at Christmas time.

Members of staff donated mince pies, shortbread and other goodies to put into the Christmas hampers.

Kim Hutchins, registered care manager at Kare Plus Worcestershire, said: “We have a lovely team of carers who really do care for the people they look after and they embraced this idea, bringing in all sort of goodies for the Christmas hampers.

“Thanks to their generosity, we’ll be able to bring a little festive cheer to several of those we care for, hopefully making their individual Christmas a touch more special.”

The company has been providing a range of home care services in Worcestershire for more than 10 years.

The hampers are now being distributed by staff at Kare Plus Worcestershire as they make their regular calls.
