A CANCER charity is inviting people in Worcestershire and across the country to show their support for work to find a cure for the disease.

In the build-up to next week’s World Cancer Day on Wednesday, February 4, Cancer Research UK is asking people to buy and wear a branded Unity Bands to show support for people suffering with the disease.

The bands are made of two parts forming a knot, representing strength in unity, and are available from all Cancer Research UK shops.

Cancer Research UK spokesman for Worcestershire Paula Young said: “February 4 is a chance for everyone to make a difference and be a part of something momentous.

“So we dearly hope people of all ages across the region will pick up a Unity Band or make a small donation to Cancer Research UK on World Cancer Day.

“A small gesture like this can make a truly big difference and help ensure that more families stay together for longer.”

Every hour more than three people in the West Midlands are diagnosed with cancer.
