THE annual general meeting of the West Midlands District Association, part of the Midland branch of the National Vegetable Society (NVS), is being held in Bromsgrove this week.

The meeting is being held at Fairfield Village Hall, in Stourbridge Road, on Thursday, February 26.

The hall will be open from 7pm, with the annual general meeting starting at 8pm.

The NVS will have new classes for novices on runner beans, beetroot,carrots and potatoes, with guidance and tips provided.

After the AGM, Mick Poultney, a qualified show judge and experienced lecturer for the NVS, will also give a talk on greenhouse and tunnel cultivation.

New members and visitors are welcome and there will be an opportunity to learn about other events and activities of the NVS.

Anyone interested in growing vegetables is welcome to attend.

For visitors there is a £3 admission fee, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits.
