A GIANT tea cosy has been unveiled at a charity's national headquarters based in Bromsgrove.

The Stroke Association, based at the Life After Stroke Centre in Church Lane, challenged the community to create a giant one handed tea cosy earlier this month.

Townsfolk were invited to get out their knitting needles and knit a four inch, one handed knitting square, which they were then asked to submit to the charity so they can be joined together to make the giant cosy.

On Thursday, (March 19), at a Sip for Stroke event - a coffee morning style fundraiser - was held where the giant cosy was unveiled.

Among those to take part in the event was avid knitter Norma Humphries who suffered a devastating stroke in 2009.

The 75-year-old has limited movement in her right arm and hand but determined not to give up on her hobby she knitted her first one-handed square for the cosy.

Stroke survivors, their family and staff attended the association's Life After Stroke Centre to enjoy the fundraising event and unveiling of the tea cosy.
